It likely goes without saying, but I didn't come close to finishing my March sweater. In fact, it looks identical to the way it looked a week ago. We need some time apart. I think it's definitely a situation of distance/heart fonder. In the meantime, I'm charging forward into April.

For whatever reason (the weather?), a lace-weight sweater seemed an appropriate palate cleanser. It was difficult to settle on a pattern. I really, really, really, wish  Kim Hargreaves would make her patterns available for purchase online. She has the most incredible lace weight sweater designs... le sigh.   ANYWAY, This bad girl is knit on  US 7 needles and, I'm hoping, is going to be a breeze.
April socks are still a twinkle in the eye; I haven't settled on a pattern or yarn yet but promised myself I would start them before the weekend.

I have my next sewing pursuit picked out and cut-out! Last night I started sewing the bodice together. Tonight, I will be practicing my seam-ripping skills and undoing the progress of the previous evening. I have some unexpected fit issues to deal with. A dress form would really be handy  (hint, hint, dear husband. My birthday is quickly approaching).

That's what I'm working on. How's your project progress?

Oh my, I adore your sewing pattern, so retro, it takes me back to looking through my mom's patterns in awe and wanting all of the dresses she had patterns for and looking at them again lately and thinking what a blessing it is that she still has them all as they are all making a comeback! I can't wait to see that finished! Holding thumbs for the ideal birthday gift ;-)

That sweater looks gorgeous! And ditto on Kim Hargreaves patterns - I'm so used to buying my patterns through Ravelry and having them available in my library that I'm frustrated whenever I can only get a pattern in a book or a collection that I can't get online.

So sorry to hear you aren't getting along with the sweater, it is a shame considering the yarn looks amazing to work with. The new dress is going to look fabulous!

That is absolutely gorgeous! I'm a big fan of lace, so naturally I'm loving what you've done thus far with the sweater.

I love that color blue too, although it doesn't do a thing for my complexion. /cries You're making me want to pull out my needles. However.. I'll hold off, still trying to master crochet, however I'm putting that on my 'to do' list for fall.

When it comes to clothes, I love retro clothes... so I'm adoring the pattern you have. Several years ago, I inherited numerous retro patterns from my mother. I had so much fun creating some of the dresses. I received lots of compliments on them too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my site. :)

You and your March sweater are like me and my cushion ... parted. :P. But after your comment ... I'm thinking maybe I should finish it with different colour yarn. Hmmmm ....

I love your sewing pattern and can't wait to see it done. Your Mad Men dress is too adorable on you and I really do love the twirling pics. :)

Your knitting is inspiring to a newbie like me so know you have a new follower!!!!

LOL at needing time apart. I frequently feel that way about my projects... and YES on the no-KH patterns online. What is that about?!? She has so many that I'd love to make. Sigh.

I stick to sewing straight lines (ie quilts) so can't wait to see your dress.

Thanks also for stopping by my site :)

The yarn for your sweater is gorgeous! I love the colour. The dress pattern is really pretty! I'd love to make my own clothes but for now I think I'll work on managing to sew a straight line :)

Oh I love the blue you chose for you Laceweight sweater. It's such an intense blue. I am in love with saturated colors. I am just understanding the necessity of time out for projects. I put one in for a lack of time and am really liking the pattern now than I did before.

Oh that dress will be so pretty!! The fabric you chose is fantastic. I need to sew a not!costume skirt or dress before the months end, I think.
I own a dress form, and she's not as curvy as I am, so she's pretty much an expensive clothing holder. I still have to pad out a couple of places.

Everyone needs a bit of a break sometimes. No worries, if you pick it up, you do and if you don't it's no biggie. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be as they say!
