It's what we knitters do. A fact of our nature, or so I tell myself each time I set aside my current projects to start another. They'll all get done. Eventually. Sometimes the brain just needs different types of stimulation in different situations, which is why knitters invented stockinette, and lace, and cables, and color work, etc... Endless combinations. Because somedays you want to be vanilla, and others, you feel more like chocolate raspberry truffle.

I know what you mean, I always used to complete each project before starting another, but I have been lead astray since blogging and Ravelry entered my life

The pattern is gorgeous! I used to be monogamous...until I started learning new techniques and wanted to try new knits that didn't have so much garter stitch in them. So, I was monogamous for about one or two squares.

Remember those two awesome sewing projects I showed you at taco tuesday? I have now: 1) made zero progress on them 2) bought two MORE patterns and fabric 3) bought my first set of circular needles for an infinity scarf pattern I found 4) bought my first crochet hook to try and learn that. Heeeeeelp. =)

I couldn't agree more. My WIP pile definitely agrees - I've got some chevron, a little bit of lace, a baby sweater, and I just finished an all-over cabled cardigan.

I'm buying what you're selling. (aka I get what you're sayin')

I need to rein it in a bit. It overwhelms me to the point I can't figure out WHAT to work on. LOL! Currently there are 5 items on the needles. ACK! Some get shuffled and then never make it back out in the light of day.

You put the reason for the cast on phenomenon into words beautifully!

So true! Sometimes it's just not the right moment for a project.
