Let Them Eat Cake Birthday Giveaway Day #2

6/2/2011

Welcome to giveaway day #2! Up for grabs is a skein of wonderful, glorious, fantastic Madelinetosh Sock yarn in Oxblood ...I think it looks a lot more like berry sorbet than oxblood... but, what do I know?
Picture
And, because I'm sure whoever wins won't want to wait to cast-on, this giveaway comes with the winner's choice of one sock pattern from CookieA's Ravelry Shop!
Picture
The same rules apply throughout the week. In addition, today's giveaway requires a Ravelry account in order to receive the gifted pattern. OK. Comment, away!

I need to knit myself some socks, ma'am. It's too hot to finish knitting the sweater I started last fall, but socks speak my language. (It's the language of short attention spans.)

Just saw your post on the CKU Ravelry page. Great blog!

I'm just working with my first skein of Madelinetosh for my Citron, and I love it -- so pretty! I would love a chance to knit my first pair of (human-sized) socks with this lovely skein of yarn!

Happy (almost) birthday :)

Oooo...sock yarn! And a Pattern! I have just found my love of sock knitting and am on my third pair. :) So this is your Birthday week? When's your bday? We may share the same day! Mine was yesterday! This would make an awesome b-day gift. hehe

Sorry for the duplicate post. I didn't read the rules the first time. And if I had, I'd have realized you mentioned my birthday, the fourth of July, and so of course, I should win the prize. :-) And I've not had the chance to own Madeline Tosh before, but it looks lovely.

Sorry again about duplicating and causing you the bother of deleting the first. I would have edited the first, if I could figure out how.

Thanks,
Debbie

Berry sorbet sounds more appetizing if nothing else. :)

What would I do with this yarn? I've had a sock pattern fermenting in my brain for a while but haven't had the time to put it on paper yet. This might be the inspiration I need to get it done. Happy Birthday week/month!!

Hi,

I saw your post on Rav. Happy birthday!

I'd love to enter the giveaway. Thank you for hosting it :).

If I win, I'd totally dedicate the socks to me for once. I usually knit for everyone else, and leave my own things for "later." Later of course never comes around. So not only would I knit these for me, but I'd finish them before working on anything else.

I bought an entire book of sock patterns about a year ago with the intention of diving right into it. Then I started looking at the patterns and lost my nerve to dive into a project. And, the book went back on the shelve. >.<

This yarn and a new (less scary) pattern would be the perfect excuse to take the plunge into sock knitting.
