Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday dear MICHHHHEELLLLEE (ME ME ME ME ME); Happy Birthday to MEEEEE!

My absolute favorite celebration each year is Fourth of July... J/K

Because I feel everyone should take part in and enjoy celebrating my birthday, and because I need to distract you from the fact that I have not yet completed my May sewing project (it's a long story; I'll tell you about it tomorrow... or the day after... ) I have decided to hold my first ever giveaway(s)! Think of them as party favors... or better yet, PRESENTS! I LOVE PRESENTS! Don't you?

Here's how it's going to work.  June 1-June 5 (my birthday, proper) I will post a giveaway-a-day. That's five separate presents! I'll post pictures and details of the loot daily.

To enter, you need only leave a comment on the post. Tell me what you will do with the present, why you want it, that you think I'm awesome... anything. You MUST include some way for me to contact you or you will not be eligible to win. (Your email addresses are not and will not ever be publicly published)

All comments/entries must be placed by midnight on June 10.  June 11, I will use the random number generator to pick and announce the winners!

RULES:  You are eligible to enter one time each day. Multiple Prizes can be won by the same person; however, please limit yourself to one comment per entry. Duplicate entries on an individual giveaway will be discarded and you will hold no numerical advantage. And, I will ship international.

What a fun thing to celebrate your birthday! I have just found you vie SewRetro and of course would love to win the pattern since my stash of vintage sewing patterns is sooo small.

Happy birthday proper! I might have to do something similar for my own birthday. I would definitely make version two, then wear it to a fancy lunch on my trip to NYC this month.

Happy birthday!

What a lovely way to celebrate. I would love this pattern - it's exactly my size! And I have some beautiful pale yellow polka dot fabric that would be perfect for the dress on the left.

That's what I would make... and I would smile all the way :)

I's draft this up a few inches and use it to make a nice dress for the office. Maybe in navy and white or is that too obvious? The other alternative is sage green and cream - very summery!

I'd have to grade the pattern down, but I think it is cute. I love the full skirt with the gathers more toward the sides. I would buy fabric with the gift card of course!

Happy Birthday!
I would make both types and play this "pattern story" (a concept from www.dressaday.com):
Orange: (She knows it's my birthday but she won't congratulate me, no piece of cake for her!)
White-'n-Green-of-envy): (Oooh those cakes she makes. Do love'em, but must leave'em or I burst my skirt. Wait till SHE's my age)

I decided to learn to sew specifically to make this style of dress (the poofy one). I have a hard time finding genuine vintage in my modern size, so I figured I'd learn to make repro myself! Great pattern! And bigger sizing!

Wow. I'd use the gift card to buy some strawberry or watermelon fabric for my niece for a sundress, and use the pattern to make a dress for my sister, 'cause it's her measurements and I love the style.

I would use the gift card & pattern to make a lovely dress for myself, as everything I make is for other people (but that's okay because I love to make them!) And you ARE awesome, you have the same b-day as my sister who is pretty awesome too. Must be a June 5 thing. ;)

The only nice thing I've kind of done for anyone else on my birthday is throw myself a fifties party and invite them... hmmm, maybe that WAS just for me too! :) Anyway, that pattern is almost my size and could be motivation to throw another party. You're invited if you'd like to travel all the way to Georgia!
