One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other.

One of these things is totally WRONG. Yes. My brain has failed me.

What a disaster. Between the Packers' loss on Saturday and my sock failure, the weekend was a  bust. Of course, I didn't realize my error until I was weaving in the ends on my second sock. I thought to myself...."huh, there seem to be fewer ends than I recall on the first sock." Sure enough, there are.

I've considered the surgical options for repair on these, but the slip stitch pattern makes it a pretty risky endeavor. I'd probably make things worse.  Alas, I've accepted that ripping and re-knitting is my best approach. (SIGH)

On a brighter note. Thank you so much for you lovely comments on Mike's hat. He read them all, and he blushed a couple times. He now feels confident that he deserves a recurring feature post on the blog, being as he was such a smash hit. :-D

Happy Monday.

Oh no! I didn't even notice the difference between the two pairs of socks until you did a more up close picture. Do you knit your socks top down or toe up? I hope there isn't too much for you to rip and re-do.

I actually really like it like that! It makes it a cool set - even though they don't match!

Honestly, I wouldn't rip them out. You could leave them as is and call it a design feature. :-)

Or you could duplicate stitch something underneath that would compliment the other sock. If you can't match the exact pattern in duplicate stitch then go with something like diamond shapes. It would look like you meant for them to be different!

Can you tell I am a lazy knitter?

Doh! I'm a perfectionist knitter and it would drive me crazy to see that mistake, you have my sympathy!

Oh hell. That sucks. I don't know how to feel about the Packer loss/Niner win. I mean, we're originally from Wisconsin and although neither of us give a crap about football, we still feel as though it's our "home" team...but we live in the SF Bay area and that would make the Niners our "new home" team.

::sigh::

Who says socks have to be exactly the same? I'd be tempted to leave them. Or you could knit another odd pair and then you'd have 2 of each design.

I stared at this picture for several minutes before realizing what was wrong with it. That's still so frustrating though. I would wear them anyway, but I'm a lazy knitter

Oh no! You can't duplicate stitch over it? If not, I really hope you can duplicate stitch over it.

Oh no, such a tragedy! But I actually like them the way they are, they are super cute!

They've got spunk! They've got character! If it bothers you too much, I can make a set to match yours and you can have the set with all the windows, and I'll take the set without :)

A similar sock issue happened with my sister recently. But she let it go and is going to check sock #2, before it's complete, on the next pair. I would have let it go as well.

Love the socks just as they are--quirky and fun! As you know, these occurrences become "design elements" after the fact! Besides, the Pack's loss would throw even the most resolute knitter off her stride!

Thanks much for visiting my blog!

Oh, no! :-( I don't suppose they're toe up, are they?

Ahh..another Whovian. Hey I think those socks look cute. Kind of like the Tardis in action and one of her catching forty winks maybe? Instead of ripping, maybe you could make a matching sock for both (gasp!)

I'm with kristie --I'd dup. stitch something.

I actually kind of like the mismatched look! It gives them a bit of sass.

You could either live with quirky socks or make an identical pair so you have one pair with band and one with out :-)

They look pretty neat like that. I think the Dr would approve!
